Singapore's passport is the most powerful, Bangladesh ranks 93rd
Singapore's passport is now the world's most powerful. On the other hand, Bangladesh is on the list of relatively weak passports. The UK-based Henley & Partners has created an index of the world's most powerful and weak passports based on passports from 199 countries and 227 travel destinations.

The index of the strongest passports is created based on the number of countries a country's passport can enter without a visa or with an on-arrival visa. For the past 19 years, the organization has been publishing rankings every year on how strong the passports of each country in the world are. This year, Singapore is at the top of the index. Its passport holders can travel to 193 countries without a visa in advance. Japan and South Korea are in second place. Passport holders of the two countries can travel to 190 countries without a visa in advance.

Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Spain are in third place in the index. Passport holders of these countries can travel to 189 countries without a prior visa. On the other hand, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Sweden are in fourth place in the index. Passport holders of these countries can travel to 188 countries without a prior visa.

Greece, New Zealand and Switzerland are in fifth place. Passport holders of these countries can travel to 187 countries without a prior visa. Australia and the United Kingdom are in sixth place. Passport holders of these two countries can travel to 186 countries without a prior visa. Passport holders of Canada, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta and Poland, who are in seventh place, can travel to 185 countries without a prior visa. Estonia and the United Arab Emirates are in eighth place on the index. Passport holders of these two countries can travel to 184 countries without a prior visa.

Croatia, Latvia, Slovakia, Slovenia and the United States are in ninth place on the index. Passport holders from these five countries can travel to 183 countries without a prior visa. Passport holders from Iceland and Lithuania, in tenth place, can travel to 182 countries without a prior visa.

Bangladesh is ranked 93rd in this list. Libya and Palestine are on the same list. Passport holders of these three countries can travel to 39 countries of the world without a prior visa. Last year, Bangladesh was ranked 97th in this index. This means that this year the country has moved up four places. Meanwhile, India is ranked 80th in the passport index, Bhutan is 83rd, Myanmar is 88th and Pakistan is 96th.
