President asks govt officers to prioritize public interest

President asks govt officers to prioritize public interest President Mohammed Shahabuddin has asked government officers to give top priority to the public interest in performing their duties as public servants. 

"Give the highest priority to the public interest while discharging duties as servants of the people . . . Always take care so that no people are harmed in any way." he told the local government officers and employees here.

The Head of State was addressing a view exchange meeting with district government officials at the local circuit house here today, on the second day of his four-day visit to his hometown Pabna this afternoon. 

President Shahabuddin directed the government employees to perform their duties with devotion and sincerity, being imbued with patriotism and the spirit of the Liberation War.

He strongly urged government officials and employees to ensure that 
every public money is properly spent. 

President Shahabuddin also suggested the officers and employees concerned, while taking up and implementing the project, ensure its quality and timely completion it. 

Referring to the community clinic that serves the marginalized people in the rural areas of the country, he said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has established the community clinic to ensure the healthcare of the marginalized people. It is a revolutionary step, acclaimed now globally".

The President urged all concerned to work sincerely in properly running the community clinics. 

During the exchange of views, the President was apprised by the government officers of the various development projects in Pabna, including road and thoroughfare and Ichhamati River dredging.
 
Deputy Commissioner of Pabna M. Asaduzzaman presided over the meeting. Bangabhaban concerned secretaries and senior officials, Pabna Police Super Akbar Ali Munsi, Engineer Deepak Kumar Mandal, Regional Passport Office AD Md. Mazharul Islam, District Senior Information Officer Samiul Islam and others were also present.

Earlier, President Mohammed Shahabuddin offered doa at the graves of his parents and in-laws at Pabna Sadar Graveyard at Arifpur here. 

The President is now in Pabna on a four-day visit since Sunday. It is his fourth visit as head of the state. 

The President is scheduled to come back to Dhaka by helicopter from Pabna on June 12 at 11.40am.
